Is Coaster Cast suitable for beginners?
Coasters and small mould castings are practical first projects when you follow DIPON’s instructions carefully. You’ll still need accurate scales, suitable moulds, mixing cups, gloves and eye protection. We’re happy to help you choose the right setup.
Is it in stock, and where do I buy it?
The price and availability above are checked with our Shopify store when this page opens and refreshed while you browse. Use “Get your 3 kg kit” to open the selected kit in our shop, where you can add it to your basket and complete checkout. Shopify confirms availability at checkout.
How do I mix it?
Mix 2 parts resin A with 1 part hardener B by weight, never by volume. DIPON specifies mixing for 3–4 minutes, transferring to a clean cup, then mixing for another 3–4 minutes. Follow the product instructions for your batch size and conditions.
How much working time do I have?
Approximately 35 minutes for a 200 g mixture at 23°C, according to DIPON’s product-specific technical table. Warm conditions and larger batches shorten working time.
When can I take it out of the mould?
Typically after 16–24 hours at 23°C for castings 10–15 mm thick. Demoulding does not mean fully cured; follow the manufacturer’s curing instructions before use.
Does the 3 kg set include everything?
The 3 kg kit contains 2 kg LuminaCast resin (Part A) and 1 kg Coaster Cast hardener (Part B). Moulds, pigments, scales, mixing tools and protective equipment are separate.
Can I use it for a deep river table?
Coaster Cast is designed for layers of 1–15 mm at 20°C. For deeper castings, ask us to help you select a suitable deep-pour system.
What should I know before using resin?
Read the product label and safety data sheets. Wear suitable chemical-resistant gloves and eye protection, work with good ventilation, and avoid skin contact. Keep your mould, tools and inclusions clean and dry.
